There Was A Time

THERE WAS A TIME WHEN I WALKED ON THE CAMPUS AT CHRISTMAS HEARD CAROLS BE PLAYED FROM THE SPEAKERS ON  THE GROUNDS!  THERE WAS A TIME  WHEN CHRISTMAS LIGHTS WERE SEEN ON THE COMMONS!  THERE WAS A TIME WHEN THIS WAS NORMAL!  BUT NORMAL TODAY IS NOTHING AND THE EMPTINESS IS DEAFENING!  AND I SUSPECT NOT ONLY TO ME BUT TO THE MANY OF THAT YOUNGER GENERATION WHO ARE LOOKING FOR THAT ANCHOR IN THEIR LIVES FOR THEY ARE ADRIFT IN A SEA OF UNCERTAINTY AND HOPELESSNESS FOSTERED BY THOSE WHO LIVE IN THAT FOOLS WORLD OF "STATE SPONSORED HAPPINESS"!
